Many organisations involved in emergency and incident management have separate systems for sending communications, managing incident information, logging, contact management, situation reporting and mapping. What is OCA?

OCA Incident Manager overcomes these problems by bringing together these many stand-alone functions into one integrated system. The system provides an easy-to-use solution for managing all incident related information in the one place, and allows for greater accuracy, speed and efficiency during incident and event management without imposing fundamental changes to the way people work.

Through OCA Incident Manager, multiple users, agencies or organisations can log into a central online web system that provides a common operating picture of any given situation via widgets on a dashboard interface. These widgets are windows to a wider system for managing incidents and related contacts and critical assets. Logs are kept up to date, tasks are assigned and monitored, reports are lodged, formal requests for assistance made, and communications easily triggered across email, sms, fax and voice. Maps, geoRSS feeds and self-defined incident boundaries or map layers assist emergency and security managers with maintaining a strategic overview of one or many incidents at once. And a sophisticated, yet easy to use workflow backbone allows for pre-planning of responses and swift reactions when timing is most critical. When greater assistance is necessary, OCA easily interoperates with other emergency management systems, whether they are the OCA product or not.

OCA has been based on years of building information sharing and notification systems for organisations involved in emergency and critical infrastructure management. These systems have been involved in several high profile events and incidents in Australia such as the Swine & Equine Flu pandemic threats (2008 & 2009), Queensland and NSW floods (2008-2009), Queensland Oil Spill 2009, APEC 2007, World Youth Day 2008 and the repatriation of Australians from the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
