Multimedia Communications gateway

Noggin's Multimedia Communications Gateway offers high reliability, high performance and high availability:

  • Multiple communications service providers are used to allow for extra redundancy and high reliability of message delivery success
  • Users can pre-purchase message credits and define credit spending on a user role basis, so they have knowledge and control of communication costs in advance
  • The gateway supports all message formats including email, SMS, voice, fax, and MMS

Security

OCA has been designed with security in mind, which includes the ability to compartmentalise data with need to know access, and apply jurisdiction access rules to protect industry information from competitors.

The OCA comes with high-grade encryption security (256 bit) and provides management with comprehensive control over user permissions, including user interfaces and who can view, edit or send objects within the system. Other security configurations and features include:

  • Integration with 3rd party authentication services like LDAP and Active Directory
  • 2-factor authentication (SMS or hardware tokens)
  • Encrypted file system
  • VPN
  • OS Mandatory Access Control (MAC)
  • Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Multi-level Security (MLS)
  • The option of secure data-centre facilities (ASIOT4)

OCA Professional requires common off-the-shelf hardware and X86 commodity hardware.

The user-interface has high usability, is accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection (no software to install) and has inbuilt help content to guide users through the system.

Service Levels

As a general guide:

  • The average SMS delivery time is under 20 seconds
  • 99% of SMS messages are delivered within 60 seconds (handset must be available i.e. turned on and within range)
  • A standard fax page is delivered within 30 seconds to a non-busy fax device
  • Inbound messages typically take between 30 and 60 seconds to process
  • Single SMS (140 Bytes) will be sent out at approximately 3000-4000 messages per minute

hosting

OCA Professional is offered on a pay by the month basis, with ongoing upgrades provided FREE of charge. There are three hosting options:

  1. Noggin SAAS - Software-as-a-service hosted in Noggin's data centre (this option requires no hardware to organise, no software to install, no hosting or data fees and no third party communication or support providers to deal with)
  2. Noggin High Rated SAAS - Software-as-a-service hosted in two high availability tier-3 ASIO T4 physical security rated data centres
  3. Client Hosted - Software subscription installed on the customer's infrastructure

Options 1 and 2 include the choice of single server or multiple server architecture, and the choice of whether the system is hosted in the same or in different geographical locations.
